GMA Model United Nations
MUN provides an opportunity for students to develop their knowledge of international relations, diplomacy, and critical thinking skills. In the last week of April, Modern was converted into a hub of global diplomacy as the GMAMUN took place. This year’s MUN brought together groups of young people who debated, negotiated, and drafted resolutions. The delegates exhibited impressive public speaking and research skills, using their quantum of knowledge about international relations to eloquently advocate for their country’s stance.
Ranging from global crises to hostage situations, GMAMUN’s crises have proved to be the most memorable part of this event. Successfully navigating a solution to these crises required delegates to act swiftly, broaden their creativity, and have efficient decision-making capabilities. GMAMUN 2023 was an unforgettable experience that allowed students to not only showcase their impressive debating skills, but also teamwork, and leadership qualities that will serve them well as they aspire to make a positive impact on the world.
In the closing ceremony, the Secretariat and Chairs of the committees delivered their speeches and praised the delegates for their efforts. This event provided a priceless opportunity for students to gauge knowledge about diplomacy, broaden their perspectives and develop crucial skills that will serve them well in their future endeavors.
As we all excitedly wait for the next edition of GMAMUN, we can all be sure that delegates of today will be leaders of tomorrow, equipped with knowledge, skills, and a vision to transcend the world.
