As passionate, resolute, zealous and proud Modernites; since the dawn of time Modern has fostered an atmosphere of global citizenship, democracy, entrepreneurship and mindfulness and over the past fortnight we have strived to put our best forward in every sphere, expanding the horizons of imagination and defying reality itself!

To start off, the Annual Inter School Basketball competition was recently held and Modern’s greatest talents set the court on fire with dribbles and three pointers. Our girls won the finals against The Millennium School and our boys team were Runners Up against St Mary’s Dubai.

To switch things up,  the Grade 9 Interclass Hackathon was held on 7th June 2022 and our tech wizards were summoned with electric sparks flowing through their fingers as they battled not with swords and spears but intelligence and programming!

The daunting Asset Examinations which assesses the core pillars of the society of Mathematics, Science and English, took place a month ago. The results were fabulous and are testimony that hard work and planning always pays off.

To highlight some of our student’s achievements, Darian Sethna (9D) and Grace Dennis (9H), stood 2nd and 3rd Runner’s Up respectively at The RSI Global Art Competition.

Moving on Pranjal Pandey (10C), Modern’s Michael Phelps has earned his place as the champion at the Madhya Pradesh State Swimming Competition.

Finally, debate- debate- debate. Spriha Pandey and I from 9F were chosen to represent Modern at The Polemics Interschool Debate and with motions like “Technology creates more jobs than it destroys”, we evaluated the status-quo at a grassroot level and Spriha qualified to the finals winning the Best Speaker of Opposition

Last but not least, Elocution! The mesmerizing craft with the ability to inspire, entertain, persuade was at the forefront at Waxing Eloquent held annually at The Millennium School where Aryan Kundra (10I) and Rishit Goswami (11B) have qualified to the finals. We wish them success!

That’s all for this edition folks! Wishing the very best to the Grade 10 students giving their Term 1 examinations! Don’t forget with the new monkey invasion (A.K.A Monkeypox), stay safe at all times and follow all precautions.

To end, never stop believing in yourself and do your best in every endeavour!
