Diplomathon Global is an international MUN conference for aspiring students across the world with the aim of developing global citizenship, real world application and all round awareness of the world we live in.
After being delayed by the pandemic, the much awaited event finally took place on 21st and 22nd May for Primary, Middle and Senior school with a medley of committees from SDG14, Marvel, World Trade Organization and UNICEF in order to diversify the opportunities and give each pupil a unique agenda to work towards.
Furthermore, with global issues like the Ukraine-Russia Conflicts, Cryptocurrency, Disaster Management and Climate Action, the Diplomathon was a truly enriching and insightful experience.
I was the delegate of UAE in the World Economic Forum with the agenda ‘The Future of Cryptocurrencies’ and discussed CDBC, stablecoins, crypto mining, regulation of illicit activities and more. In addition, I was also announced the Best Delegate and authored the working paper and resolution. GEMS Modern Academy was also the highest scoring school and had the maximum participation.
Overall, Diplomathon was a great way to foster research into society’s fabric, the role of integral nations or authorities and promote collaboration to propose holistic solutions.
