Organizing the ‘Autism Acceptance’ assembly was an enriching and memorable experience. Not only did we get a glimpse into a whole new world but we were also successful in sensitizing the audience.
We had an interview with Mr. Johann Mendes who is in the Guinness Book of World records. He shared his life experiences from which we gained a lot of knowledge and saw a new perspective into the life of a person with autism.
We had a simulation where we experienced what children with autism go through when there is a sensory overload in the classroom.
We distributed some handmade bookmarks to the students of grades 9 and 10 to mark the occasion.
