#LettheEarthBreathe.
Have you noticed this hashtag? It is quite popular on social media these days, but if you have not, here’s what it is about.
Scientists have been protesting in numerous parts of the world for the safety of our planet and its inhabitants. The police forces have been arresting and throwing these scientists into prison.
Dr. Kalmus, a Biological Systems and Climate Change scientist at NASA, says that we are running straight towards a massive catastrophe if governments and multi-million dollar companies do not take the necessary steps to care for our planet. In only three years, we will face disasters like droughts, floods, and typhoons. The shrinking of glaciers, the increase in global temperatures, and the rise in sea levels have already begun.
But what can we do?
In light of Earth Day, here are some things we can do to make Mother Earth a happier, more wondrous place!
– Walk, use a bike, or ride the metro instead of driving a car to reduce carbon emissions!
– Make use of Ecosia! It is a search engine (similar to Google, and it plants a tree for every 45 searches!)
– Minimize or eradicate the use of single-use plastic in your homes.
Hop on over to Ecosia and browse the articles and make a difference in any way you can 🙂 Remember, we only have one earth, and we have to do all we can to save it!
