The Chevron Reader’s Cup is a reading competition for schools organized by the Emirates Literature Festival. For years, Modern has participated in the Chevron Reader’s Cup, eyeing the trophy. And yet, we fell just short each year.
This year, however, things were different. With 3200 participants from 800 teams across the UAE, Modern emerged the winner. Two of our teams participated and each team spent months reading 4 novels. Ultimately, the team comprising Tanay Jagannathan, Anisha Mittal, Angela Ahuja and Nikitha Chenneru won the coveted trophy. The second team comprising Gayathri Menon, Rishima Roy, Parv Bhadra and Niyaa Shakti Meganathan also qualified for the final round.
At the closing ceremony, Modern was crowned the winner for the 2021-22 season. With the spell having been lifted, we hope that Modern continues to make its mark every year henceforth.
