I have always been recognized as the singing girl in various school events. I have been singing for as long as I have been talking. My father recognized my talent for singing when I was 2 years old. I initially started off by only singing Tamil songs. When I was around 4 years old, I started learning Carnatic music in Bahrain. Soon after, we moved to Dubai where I started learning Carnatic music under Guru Visalakshi Shankar, from whom I still learn. When I was 10 years old, I started training for Western music with Ms. Alena Katovich. This year I started training in voice which is basically western classical (operatic, musical theatre etc.).

This was my first-ever stage performance!

When I am singing I feel like I am in a whole new world. All my worries, tensions and agitations disappear and all I can think about is the emotion behind the songs. Singing gives me utmost happiness. If I ever have a bad day, I just sing for an hour or so and it just turns my day around. All my life I’ve really looked up to Adele. My love and respect for Adele runs deep, and for years she has been someone I look up to. Adele carries out her life with confidence in herself and is unapologetic about sharing her feelings and opinions, no matter what they may be. At only 33 years old, Adele has already accomplished so much, and she’s impressively humble about it. Yes, her success is inspirational, but her attitude toward life is more so. I love singing her songs since they are so beautiful and heart-touching!

I’ve been singing on stage my entire life, but a few of the memorable ones that I’ll be forever grateful for would be singing with Hugh Jackman at the Global Teacher Prize – 2019, Performing in ‘The Voice of Tolerance’ by Dragone at the La Perle stage in 2019, Performing in the Terra Pavilion at Expo 2020 for the I-CAN Summit, singing for UAE Peace Day in Abu Dhabi for the Pope, and singing for GEMS Awareness Day 2021 in Atlantis.

Singing is one of the most positive forms of human activity, supporting physical, mental, emotional and social health, as well as individual development. It also gives a sense of peace, accomplishment and satisfaction. It enables young people of different ages and abilities to come together successfully to create something special in the arts.
