On your mark, get set, GO!
Every swimmer standing on that diving block, their heartbeat is louder than the cheer of the crowd. The pressure of perfecting every aspect in that swim, making sure it is executed with perfection and that final touch that determines the winners; all these thought processes happens in under a minute.
It is not about the medals or if you get a chance to step on the podium. It is really about the experience and the memories you make with your teammates and what you really learn from this journey.
An excellent performance was given by the students of Gems Modern Academy in the Inter-house Swimming Gala for the year 2021-22. There were 32 participants in total for boys and girls. The boys’ Gala took place on 25th October and the girls’ Gala took place on 27th October. Even with the tough times of COVID, our sports
department came up with a very smooth competition which was planned in a week.
Every student who participated in the gala is a winner, they trained for weeks just to participate in this event, they came for morning practice and with the guidance of the swimming teachers, they reached to the final competition.
