Some students of Grade 10 had recently been a part of the Modern Youth Food Drive, as a way of showing their appreciation and gratitude towards our devoted support staff, who work tirelessly to fulfill our needs and meet our conveniences. The students who were a part of this initiative are Shree Vaideeswari, Pragati Rajesh, Shreya Pulujkar, Vaibhav Sarma, Ali Arkate and Nikhil Nair of 10F, and Mrunal Kankarej and Vidushi Arvind of 10H.

The planning of this huge event started 6 months ago, when an idea sparked in Shree’s and Pragati’s minds. Initially, the two approached Mr. Sheldon, who welcomed this idea and encouraged them to take this wonderful initiative forward. Then they approached a few other students of Grade 10 to join them in making this event successful. They then presented the detailed plan to Mr. Trafford, who supported this initiative by taking it to the SLT. This was followed by a series of meetings with Ms. Tracy, Mr. Atkins and Mr. Gomes.

When we, the team members, look back over the past six months, although so much was accomplished, all that flashes across our minds is 300 smiles, beaming, radiating and filling our hearts with the sunshine of their happiness. After all the hard work of collecting donations and tirelessly packing the food hampers, while missing a few classes, everything was worth it, when we saw the happiness on the faces of the support staff.

To sum it all up, we believe this drive turned out to be immensely successful. None of this could have taken place without the support of the SLT, Mr. Trafford, Mr. Sheldon, Ms. Tracy and all the students and teachers of this school, who made their donations to help us with the initiative. We can never forget the exhilarating feeling we experienced while giving the food hampers to the support staff, and the gratitude they gave us in return.
