Keep reading. It’s one of the most marvelous adventures anyone can have.

Reading gives us some place to go when we are forced to stay where we are, as experienced during these unprecedented times. Readers get into the world of the writer when they start reading their work, whether it is make-believe fairytales, talking animals or the crazy fantasy world seen in works of fiction. But what is now taking the world by storm and causing a revolution is non-fiction as it scratches the cerebrum with some baffling topics. Educators are extolling the importance of factual, informational reading and this is something which excites our educator this week.
Reading articles on education, leadership, technology and those by Eric Sheninger and visiting websites like Edutopia and Thinking School greatly interest her. Biographies give insight into the lives of great personalities we look up to and this educator has enjoyed reading many of them like those of APJ Abdul Kalam, Steve Jobs and great Indian leaders like Nehru and Indira Gandhi, to name a few. She also enjoys reading books written by Chetan Bhagat with ‘Two States’ topping the list.
The lady with us today is a simple and humble educator who finds interaction with her students an enriching experience and misses classroom teaching ever since her administrative responsibilities increased when she became a member of the Senior Leadership Team at Modern. The educator this week is our Dean of Assessment, Mrs. Malini Murali.
The lockdown period helped her unleash a new hobby and Malini Ma’am experimented with some lip-smacking dishes of North Indian cuisine especially ones with paneer being her favorite.
Ms. Malini also likes to unwind over the weekend watching Bollywood movies of which ‘Three Idiots’ and ‘M.S. Dhoni – The Untold Story’ are the ones she enjoyed the most. She also loved watching the Netflix series ‘Cobra Kai’ with her son. The rendezvous ended with a very special message from Malini Ma’am. She wants students to know that they should find their passion by introspection and self-reflection, and once they find the path where their heart lies, they can channelize their energy and work in that direction.
A true calling is aimed at the genius qualities already set within each person.
