The much-awaited Literary Aesthetica – The Inter House English Elocution Competition was conducted on a virtual platform on 11th and 13th January, 2021 for Middle and Senior School respectively.
For the Senior Section, the judges were Mrs. Sangeeta Dhall, the Head of English at La Martiniere Boys College, Lucknow; Ms. Rose Mary, a Senior IB teacher at St. Mary’s School, Dubai; and Ms. Navanita Varadpande, a teacher at GEMS Millennium Dubai and a Gulf News columnist.
The categories ranged from Dahl Specials to Great Speeches, from poetry to prose.
Over a hundred passionate enthusiasts were present as our participants engaged, entertained and enthralled the audience and judges. The judges were mesmerized by the confidence and presence of mind of every extempore speaker. The articulation and delivery embodied the standards set by our school and reflected the efforts put in by each House. The passion and synergy created was fulfilling and rewarding irrespective of the results.
A special mention of thanks was given to Pratyush Sudarshan (IB) for designing the fabulous invitations and Anannya Vaidya (10F), Aanya Khandelwal and Tanay Jagannathan (8F) for hosting the event.
