The Rachel Hatch author series is one of the best thriller and action novels written in the modern era. Its descriptive plot, dramatic turn of events and figurative language hook the reader like no other.
I enjoyed reading this book for it took me through an immersive journey as different events and plots twists kept revealing themselves to me.
I enjoyed different aspects of this read such as the detailed character development, the weaving of multiple events into the storyline and the realistic scenarios that all the characters in the book had to go through. There also was a steady buildup to the suspense and final reveal of the murderer that I found interesting. Although fictional, you do find certain elements of the plot picked up from real life.
The book is well written and flows smoothly which makes it easier to follow the views of each character. In the beginning, one might find themselves overwhelmed as the author has put together several completely different events as subsequent chapters in the book but I believe that this is what makes the book very exciting. The only thing I “disliked” about this book was the complexity of the plot, the storyline and the introduction and roles of all the characters. I personally believed that it was hard to keep track of all the different things that were happening at the same time and therefore I do not think that this an appropriate book for a young reader. The plot of this book is also unpredictable with the author writing several events of situational irony. For example, in the beginning, I expected Rachel Hatch to cooperate and stay out of the Sheriff’s way in her sister’s murder case. But she kept showing up at the same places and at the same times as the sheriff and his team. I also expected Rachel Hatch to leave town after she was nearly killed several times but instead, she stayed and made the wrong doers pay for their actions.
All in all, I believe that you must read this book as it is one of the best thriller and action novels in the modern era and I think that you will like this book if you are fond of action movies like James Bond, Mission Impossible or books such as “I Survived” by Lauren Tarshis or the action series by Tom Clancy. Drift – Rachel Hatch is an amazing book involving a lot of components that many people enjoy such as action, thrills, suspense, and mystery, along with a consistent storyline, making it one of the you-must-get-your-hands-on! I would definitely recommend this book to any student my age or older as it is very interesting and the author does not let you put it down until you’ve completed it.
