It’s been a while. But we’re back!

And so are you… Welcome back to school, 10th Graders and welcome to Senior school, freshmen of Grade 9!

Hope the holidays in March treated you well and left you feeling much calmer and refreshed after the third term exams!

Change!

That is indeed, the flavor of this season.

New grades, new books, new uniforms, new classrooms, new friends and a brand new avatar for The Freshmen Chronicles.

We would like to take this opportunity to place our unreserved thanks to Ms Michelle Thomas who along with Ms Christina spearheaded this editorial team. We wish Ms Michelle the very best in her new role as Academic Coordinator of Grade 9. We would also like to thank all our 10th graders from the Batch of 2022 who gave our chronicles a facelift.

With so many contributors leaving, our team needed revamping. And so Mr Brandon Dias, senior school teacher of English and Ms Ekvira Bada, our Mass Media teacher have joined Ms Christina along with a host of 9th and 10th Graders for this publication.

It’s been three weeks since the start of the term and a lot has happened since.

Our 9th graders have already been informed of the EIP projects. Two EIP projects got accepted into the International Journal of Innovative Science and Research Technology from the current tenth graders. And some of our students have even featured in Gulf News. On the 20th of April, these groups participated in the GMA Research Colloquium, as well.

Meanwhile, we also staged our first-ever Freshmen Monologue. This was an inter-class competition and it started off as a huge success. Next up: The Freshmen Debates!

For all the athletes out there, football and basketball try-outs were conducted!

We also had quite a few of our 9th and 10th graders participate in the TEDx and Mission Dance events at school.

We would also like to take this opportunity to congratulate all the members of the Chalkboard Tabloid from Grades 9 and 10. Siana Mendonca, Khushie Sharma, Gayathri Menon and Nidhi Suhas from Grade 10 and Siddharth Menon, Sarah Saad, Srishti Sudhakar, Nitya Patni and Ishanvi Shetty from Grade 9 have been quietly going about their work, bringing the news around us to the TV screens in our corridors. Ladies and gentlemen, kudos!

This, of course, is only just the beginning.

We hope you like this edition of The Chronicles. Please send us your feedback in the comments. Till the next fortnight…

Ramadan Kareem and Happy reading. 🙂
