People looking for the devil,
Often forget the truth;
That he doesn’t look any different
From the man standing next to you.
The one who refuses to see,
That his monstrosity
Might be the reason we
Are slowly give up on humanity.
The one who refuses to hear
The silent cries for help,
She who lets violence win
By choosing to keep silent.
I stand here with them,
The silenced and the oppressed,
To remind them that
We don’t have to remain quiet.
I stand here among countless others,
I stand here raising my voice,
Demanding why we must protest,
For what should be our right.
I demand an answer,
Tell me what to do,
When the devil you’ve been running from,
Is standing next to you.
