Radio FM 96.7 brought fun, laughter and learning to our school. Our session was packed with a very inspiring discussion with Ms. Maitha Al Shamsi, Chief Executive Officer -Community Development Authority – Dubai on the vital role that CDA plays in ensuring the welfare and well-being of children in Dubai.
We also learnt about the various rights a child has such as the Right to Play, the Right to Education, and the Right to Privacy. We were informed about the toll-free number (800988) to call in case of bullying and abusive behaviour. We were introduced to the app called ‘MyRights CDA’, which helps us learn about children’s rights through fun games.
In the next part of our session, the beloved RJs of 96.7 FM, RJ Nimmy and RJ Mithun took over and gave us an opportunity to showcase our talents. The winners won a month-long class with Melodica!
The students played some fun games and won numerous prizes like vouchers to Fun City, tickets to the Dubai Ice Rink and Microsoft Headphones, a 500-dirham voucher for Samyang Noodles and Lenovo Tablets.
In the game conducted for teachers, Mr. Alaa emerged as the winner, winning an Aster Giftcard.
Lastly, a guitar was gifted to our school from Melodica.
The excitement and enthusiasm of our batch was overwhelming! This session not only taught us a lot about the Community Development Authority of Dubai but also enabled us to have fun as we began yet another new term.
