Chess is one of the oldest and most popular board games. It is played by two opponents on a chess board with specially designed pieces in contrasting colors, primarily black and white. White moves first, then the players take turns according to the established rules, with each player trying to force the opponent’s principal piece, the king, to checkmate, a position in which he cannot avoid capture.
Last Thursday saw a fierce competition among all the houses. The players were focused and implemented many intelligent moves and strategies. Everyone put in their best effort for their houses. Each of them had their own strengths and weaknesses but they worked hard, practiced and played well. In the 1st round, Orion won over Cygnus and Pegasus and Aquila drew. In the tie breaker, Aquila won, making it to the finals against Orion. Everyone tried their best and put on a great show.
