Imagine you are told to perform at a school show but are afraid there isn’t a single talent you possess. Well then, I’m here to tell you that you’re wrong! Everyone has something they are talented at but they just don’t know it yet and our school is one that firmly believes every kid is unique and possesses a talent which they deserve to portray. This is where Modern’s Got Talent comes in. MGT is a performance programme our school and grade have every alternate week during ACE. It is a show where children are required to sign up and then are allowed to show off any thing they are proud of.
We have recently had a few shows in which many children from grades 9 and 10 performed. The crowd was so impressed with the children’s confidence and captivating performance that they couldn’t help but applaud. In MGT there is no limit to what you can and can’t do. Let’s suppose you are extremely good at swimming, but you can’t perform it on a stage. It doesn’t matter because you can take a video and the videos will be shown to the students so that you get a chance to shine even if you aren’t doing anything live.
Modern’s Got Talent isn’t just a show for people who are aware of what they are good at; it’s a show that mainly helps students realise that they have so much more to learn about themselves and their creativity and hobbies. It gives children an opportunity to explore their abilities and see what they can improve or even helps them to discover a passion they never knew existed. And i’m not a hypocrite so let me admit as well that I have performed a song at MGT which, to be completely honest, wasn’t the best but I did gain a lot more confidence due to that performance and ever since then I am able to go on stage without feeling insecure or worried.
In our recent MGT shows we have had many amazing performances by students in various different aspects like comedy, music, dance, choir and much more, but this article isn’t written only to tell you all about MGT’s glory but also to convince you that you may be good at something you never knew about and that you shouldn’t miss an opportunity to find out your abilities. So I hope to see you performing at the next Modern’s Got Talent show!
