Intelligence is the ability to adapt to change.
Stephen Hawking
We have all adapted to the changes happening in the world for the past year and a half. With times changing we are forced to change too, and this applies to everything, whether working from home or doing online studies, everyone has accepted and adapted to this.
One major change that happened this year is the change in the board exam pattern for the ICSE students of the batch of 2022. The board has divided the 80-mark exam into 2 semesters of 40 marks each, Semester 1 being in November and Semester 2 in March 2022. Semester 1 exams will only be Multiple Choice Questions and Semester 2 will be theory-based.
Uptil now, we have only had MCQs in some sections of our paper and during small AOLs, but having an entire paper with MCQs may or may not be hard. Here are some techniques that will help us tackle these MCQs:
➢ Elimination
The process of elimination is very useful and necessary too. As there are 4 options given to choose from, eliminate the answers irrelevant to the question. This will save a lot of time and effort.
➢ Scrutinize
Check the contents for each choice carefully and understand the nitty-gritties based on the question.
➢ No Guessing
Don’t tick any answers by fluke; choose the best option and the closest one.
➢ Recheck
Recheck your answers thoroughly before submitting them. Keep a rough sheet next to you to work out some of the answers for subjects that require calculation.
At this point, we all might feel that our school life has turned upside down. Some of us may be very happy with this new change in the exam pattern, while others may not. Instead of trying to change things that are not in our control, all we can do is work hard and give it our best in whatever we do. If we put in our 100% nothing is impossible.
