It’s not what a movie is about; it’s how it is about it.

Roger Ebert

Have you ever thought of becoming an actor, director or script writer? Well, we have them all right here at Modern. Our school enrolled in the Daly College Film Festival and came first out of 15 institutions!

Our topic was life after Covid, and the director, Pahal Samyani of 10B, came up with the main concept of the film. The idea was that people shouldn’t joke about Covid or only spread positive messages but should be aware of and talk about the reality of the situation, because some people have had quite a harrowing experience during these times.

Our actors deserve a standing ovation. Mahira Gangwani of 9E won Best Supporting Actor and Kripa Kotriwala of 10B won the Best Actor award! The team also got a special mention from the judges as the best ensemble cast.

With just a few days of preparation to back them, the students gave it their all and worked hard to turn this into a success. The competition ended on May 10th. Through rehearsals and stay backs, the students’ enthusiasm did not fade. The buzz created on WhatsApp groups and the constant forwarding of videos from one person to another definitely did not go in vain.

These are the talented young artists who made it all possible:

  • Kripa Kotriwala – 10B
  • Pahal Samyani – 10B
