“Chess is the gymnasium of the mind” – Blaise Pascal
Anant Mukherjee of Grade 9 won two chess tournaments last week. The first was a UAE level tournament where he won first place in the under 17 category. The second was a team championship in a tournament comprising teams from India and the UAE. Both competitions were organized virtually.
He also got the opportunity to be coached by chess grandmaster, Himanshu Sharma, who is India’s 47th grandmaster. He was also fortunate to be selected to play a simul against the grandmaster.
