An inspiring actor and the most articulate human being one can ever come across- that best defines Boman Irani. He switched to his acting career at the age of thirty five, after meeting success in his past careers. An actor who has flawed his audience in movies like ‘3 Idiots’ and ‘Munna Bhai MBBS’ with his fine acting skills. Students of Modern were fortunate enough to have a conversation one on one with the legendary Mr. Boman Irani.
As soon as Mr. Irani entered, he brought with himself an entirely different aura. His honesty, humility and nonchalant way of speaking stole the hearts of the students and teachers.
We always pay attention to the bigger picture and many a-times fail to look at the smaller details. We questioned him about his journey into films .It was an absolutely stimulating conversation. Such a humble persona spoke of about his personal life and how he struggled with dyslexia and his lisp, how he went on to join his family business to being a waiter, then a photographer and finally an actor. You would expect someone famous to call his story a ‘struggle’, however, Mr. Irani viewed it as a learning experience and stands as evidence that no one can suddenly rise to fame and get the ‘the shortcut pass’ to glory. One must struggle, see the hard side to enjoy the fruit of his labour.
The evidence of finding joy in what he does is outshines by his versatility. After getting an insight to his journey, we got the actor to sing a couple of songs. It was delightful watching him strum his guitar as he sang a few of his all-time favourites. Due to an unfortunate constraint on time he took a few of our question and answered them with uttermost genuineness.
#Back2School was an absolute success; ending on such a high note! It was not only the meeting but also the valuable lessons shared that will hold a place in our hearts forevermore.
