In a heartfelt tribute to the late Sakshi Verkot, the Sakshi Verkot Theatre Festival brought together a wave of creativity and talent, filling the air with the essence of drama and emotion. Organized by the dedicated efforts of Manya Dhody, Maanya Lalwani, Ira, and Srishtee from IB 1, this festival served as a fitting memorial to a departed soul who had a passion for the stage.

The festival unfolded over two captivating days, with the juniors taking the spotlight on 22nd September and the seniors shining brightly on 23rd September. A total of 12 plays, each brimming with youthful energy and artistic expression, were showcased during the event. Students ranging from 8th to 12th grade poured their heart and soul into their performances, captivating the audience with their raw talent and dedication.

The play I starred in along with Aadit Ahuja was called “Ten Pages.” It was directed by Vidisha Aggarwal and Kushagra Sethi.  Out of the 12 plays that were showcased, our’s won the People’s Choice Best Play Award. Winning the Best Actor’s runner up and the runner up for the Critic’s Choice Best Play Award was not an easy task because of the tough competition that we faced from our counterparts.

Participating in the Sakshi Verkot Theatre Festival was more than just a competition; it was an enriching experience for all involved. The festival not only celebrated the art of theatre but also served as a reminder of the impact that a single individual can have on a community. Through the passion and dedication displayed by the young performers, Sakshi Verkot’s legacy lives on, inspiring future generations to embrace the stage and express themselves through the powerful medium of theatre.
