GMA’s senior students have taken their passion for technology and coding to new heights by organising a thrilling Hackathon competition designed exclusively for the students in grades 9 and 10. The event promises to be an exciting blend of learning, innovation, and teamwork, featuring three coding languages: Java, Python, and C++.

Secondly, this event embodies the school’s commitment to nurturing tech-savvy students who are well-prepared for the challenges of the modern world. By encouraging junior students to immerse themselves in these coding languages, they not only gain technical skills but also develop problem-solving abilities that are crucial in various career paths.

Java, Python, and C++ were chosen as the coding languages for the Hackathon due to their wide-ranging applicability and popularity in the tech industry.

Java is renowned for its portability and versatility, making it an excellent choice for students to learn and use in various contexts. It’s particularly relevant for developing Android applications, web services, and scientific applications.

Python, known for its simplicity and readability, is a favourite among beginners. Its applications span web development, data analysis, artificial intelligence, and more, making it an essential language for budding coders.

C++ is a powerful language, often utilised for system programming, game development, and high-performance applications. It challenges students to explore more complex aspects of coding, enhancing their problem-solving abilities.

This experience can ignite their passion for coding and open doors to future academic and career opportunities in the tech world.

The GMA Senior Hackathon is a testament to the school’s commitment to holistic education. It empowers students with valuable skills, fosters collaboration and mentorship, and prepares them for the ever-evolving technological landscape. This initiative helps to shape future innovators and problem solvers who will undoubtedly leave their mark on the world of technology.
