The winds are gusty like a hurricane,
Gunshots shattering the eerie silence of the night,
The ground strewn with bodies that lay motionless,
The nauseating stench of blood permeating the air,
Those that were alive moments ago are now forever gone.
Dark clouds of smoke rising from the smoldering fire,
As the enemy stealthily advances hiding behind the dark covers,
Bullets flying, humans dying, there is agony everywhere,
Slashing life’s beauty limb by limb,
Sickening terror all around.
Beneath each uniform beats a heart that’s soft and warm,
Screaming out, shouting loud,
‘I am innocent! Then, why me?
I don’t want war, but only peace,
When people are kind and no one is mean,
Let’s end this war, please.’
